Stagecoach East Midlands told Lincoln Bus "We are making some changes to some bus fares in the Lincoln area from Monday 26 March 2018; we recognise that price increases are never welcome, which is why it is our usual practice to review our fares only once a year just before Easter; our last full review was twelve months ago on 2 April 2017.

Our aim is always to offer the best value bus travel whilst ensuring that we are able to continue operating a stable bus network in the longer term. We do our absolute best to keep prices as low as possible as we continue to face rising costs and reduced public sector investment in buses. Notices are currently in buses advising customers of our revised fares.

Despite these changes, the cost of taking the bus remains significantly cheaper than commuting by car and bus travel helps free up precious time for customers who might otherwise have to drive themselves and find a parking space.

We continue to reinvest the money from fares in new buses, smart ticketing, our website and smartphone app which allow customers to track their bus, and mobile ticketing. From May we will be introducing contactless card payments to our bus services."
